Hublot Becomes Official Watchmaker of FIFA and Official Timekeeper

April 15, 2010 – Zurich –  Hublot will serve as the Official Watchmaker for the coming World Cups held in South Africa this coming June and in Brazil in 2014 according to the  Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA).

Hublot is no stranger to the game having sponsored the Swiss team in 2006 and with their association with the Mexican Football Federation and the Spanish national team.   CEO Jean-Claude Biver announced that Hublot will be the first luxury brand to have ties to football and considers it an honor and pleasure to be associated with FIFA and to be the “Official Watchmaker” for the next two World Cups. This is one of the largest televised events in the world and will provide an great deal of exposure for Hublot.

FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter shared  his respect for the Hublot brand in their innovation, Swiss quality and accuracy.   He indicated Jean-Claude Biver’s passion and drive is infused in the brand.  This great honor means that Hublot will be seen on the referees’ boards when they show substitutions and stoppage times. 

Hublot plans an exclusive limited edition series for the 2014 FIFA in Brazil.   In addition, a special collection will also be associated with the FIFA World Cup for 2011.
