Want to make a bang without saying a word?  Why not let your style speak for itself with Hublot’s Big Bang Evolution Mens Watch 301.PM.1780.RX?

The Materials

The secret to its durability and comfort?  Hublot has realized that quality starts with its materials and has found new and innovative ways to take some of the most durable materials on earth and adapting them to their high-profile designs.  Hublot has perfected the use of carbon in its products.  As one of the most abundant elements on earth, carbon products are found in many areas outside of watchmaking including aviation, medicine, and human beings themselves.  Hublot has bridled this advancement to create a stronger, lighter, and more contemporary edge to their watches.  The black ceramic is not the same type found from your high school pottery class, but is pure zirconium oxide ceramic—similar to the ceramics found in the brake discs of racing cars.  The 18k red gold accents the sturdy workmanship and adds a touch of elegance to the piece.

Not only are Hublot’s watches durable, but this timepiece is incredibly functional as well.  With a chronograph function, date function, and a rubber strap as comfortable as it is resilient.  The sapphire dial window is both scratch resistant and anti-reflective.  The black and gold coloring is simple, yet boldly elegant while the textured carbon detail on the dial itself is interesting without distracting from the readability of the watch.

Feature Summary

Black and gold don't suit your fantasy? Try this alternate combination.

  • Date display
  • 18k Red Gold
  • Black ceramic bezel
  • Self-winding
  • Chronograph
  • Scratch resistant sapphire
  • Chronograph functions
  • Durable rubber strap
  • Water resistant to 100 meters/330 feet

Cons

  • The ceramic and scratch-proof sapphire may make this model more durable than most, but it’s not your best bet for deep sea divers.  The watch can manage up to 330 feet, but as most deep sea watches require about twice that to survive the watery conditions, this will be one tool you leave at on shore.
  • Readability may be an issue for some as the watch does not have numerals to help tell the time apart.

If you’re not a fan of the black and gold coloring, the 301.SX.1170.RX includes all the function in a slightly different fashion with a steely gray instead.

Hublot’s watches are incredibly innovative and clever, perfecting common materials to create a high end product reading to weather your needs.  The Hublot’s Big Bang Evolution Mens Watch 301.PM.1780.RX is sure to start a commotion.
